Pears, which will be available in the US in January 2007 and in global travel
retail from May 2007.
Explaining the travel retail roll-out strategy, V&S Absolut Spirits Global
Travel Retail Director Anders Olsson said: “The introduction, executed by
Maxxium Global Travel Retail, which handles the V&S brands in the global duty
free and travel retail market, will take place throughout the world on the same
day, supported by a fully integrated campaign where all the elements complement
each other perfectly. I am confident that the travel retail industry will find
Absolut Pears as tempting as we do.”
As with all members of the Absolut Vodka family, the drink is made from natural
ingredients and contains no added sugar or sweetener. It has, say Absolut, a
delicate taste of pears and a long, fruity aftertaste.
“Absolut continues to innovate and move the flavoured vodka market forward with
this new pear variety,” said Olsson. “This is the first pear-flavoured vodka in
the marketplace and confirms Absolut’s position as the leading premium brand
within this dynamic segment.”
A tongue-in-cheek print advertisement for the new drink shows a green snake
wrapped around an Absolut Pears bottle. A pear-shaped silhouette is clearly
visible on the snake and the headline reads: “The New Temptation”."

Temat: PTTk biuro podróży
Byliśmy z PTTK-iem na wycieczce objazdowej do Czarnogóry. Jak na swoją cenę
wydawało się w dobrym standardzie itd. Początkowe opowiadania napaliły nas na
doznania jakie mieliśmy przeżyć. Istotnie krajobrazy zapierały dech w piersiach,
woda w Adriatyku kryształowa i cieplutka, jedzenie pyszne i do woli a pogoda
wspaniała. Jechaliśmy jak to określił PTTK wygodnym autokarem. Tylko nie można
było zdjąć butów bo podłoga nagrzana od silnika parzyła w stopy. Na większych
nierównościach odrywaliśmy się od siedzeń (jak na drewnianych kołach). Po
stoczonym boju o miejsce i długich pertraktacjach z panem, który nie chciał się
przesiąść w końcu usiadłem ze swoją żoną! No i jedziemy... Przy pierwszym
noclegu "zimny prysznic" dosłownie. Może 7 zabitych karaluchów to dużo nie dużo
ale euforia opadła. Na drugi dzień dotarliśmy. Hotel w Tivacie był siermiężny
(**) ale czysty i bez dodatkowych lokatorów. Do plaży mieliśmy 8 metrów i
dookoła piękny widok. W skład wyprawy wchodziły wycieczki fakultatywne. Były
dosyć drogie jak na to co żeśmy tam zobaczyli. Co do pilotki i przewodniczki...
Pani miała niesamowitą wiedzę na temat wszystkiego co nas tam otaczało, również
rodzinę i znajomych w tamtych stronach przy czym załatwiała swoje własne sprawy
naszym kosztem (dołożone kilometry). Na końcu dołożyliśmy 11 godzin jazdy aby
mogła przesiąść się na inny autokar jadący do Chorwacji. I praliśmy kilometry z
Sarajewa na Zagrzeb ?? Jednej pani puściły nawet nerwy... Na końcu
dowiedzieliśmy się, że zostaliśmy sprzedani do jakiegoś Global Travel czy coś i
to wcale nie PTTK. Osobiście bardzo polecam Bałkany i Czarnogórę ale z uczciwym
biurem podróży bo w tym organizacja jest "pod zdechłym Azorkiem". Pozdrawiam.

Travel, zaś spotkanie ma się odbyć w Mikołajkach, również w tę sobotę.

"FRANCE. Buoyed by the international success of Hypnôse – now the number five
best-selling fragrance worldwide - French house Lancôme has delved into its
rich archives to introduce more fragrant launches.
One of the most recent introductions is an eau de toilette version of Hypnôse
for the European market (the eau de toilette is already a best-seller in
Asia).
The popularity of Hypnôse – introduced in October 2005 - is due in no small
part to the brand’s stunning “face”, the Canadian supermodel Daria Werbowy,
who has modelled for many of the world’s leading fashion houses. Her
trademark feline eyes have successfully hypnotised millions of women and
young girls, thanks to those stop-you-in-your-tracks advertising visuals shot
by the photographer Javier Vallhonrat.
Under the direction of Odile Roujol as head of Lancôme International (part of
the L’Oréal Luxury Products Division), the Paris-based company’s mission to
modernise the brand and appeal to younger women appears to have been well and
truly accomplished: the Hypnôse eau de parfum is the number one reference in
the global travel retail channel, ahead of the brand’s best-selling Miracle
line. Overall, Hypnôse is the number one seller in the US market, among the
top two in Asia and in the top five in Europe.
The second fragrance debut will be key to travel retailers and represents the
second travel-retail exclusive line in the Collection Voyage family. In an
exclusive interview with the International Vice President for Lancôme
Fragrances, Vincent Brun, The Moodie Report was granted several sneak-preview
details. The line, called Benghal, is set for a 2007 launch and will take
India as its theme.
The face of the new fragrance will be Spanish-born model Inès Sastre,
Lancôme’s house model for several years, who will aim to portray the “magical
world” of this diverse country, said Brun. Expect a new bottle, a new carton,
and new colours. (Also see pictures below.) The global roll-out will take
place from February 2007 and sales of €5 million worldwide are expected next
year, mainly coming from the Asian market. The retail price will be €40.
The India-themed line will form part of Lancôme’s Collection Voyage targeted
at travellers. “Travel retail is a huge business and it is getting bigger,”
said Brun. Explaining the Collection Voyage concept, he continued: “We want
to propose something in a qualitative way. We have a new bottle, very
upscale, with a new cap, and new visuals,” he stressed. “We will keep on
talking about the brand and showing it is alive, continuing with the story.”
Certainly, the first Tropiques travel exclusive fragrance worked so well for
Lancôme that the company fully expects the new India version to outperform it
in sales by some +20%. The line took the theme of the Tropics and its exotic
flowers, which were reflected in the advertising visuals and the packaging.
And that wasn’t the only clever thing about it – the name happened to be
plucked from the rich Lancôme archive.
Back in 1935, the house’s founder Armand Petitjean began his beautiful
journey by creating five fragrances – including one called Tropiques. So the
brand already had an established heritage when it was chosen by the firm to
capture the spirit of travel.
Brun confirmed that there has been no cannibalisation of Hypnôse following
the launch of the first Tropiques exclusive. “Hypnôse hasn’t suffered from
the launch of Tropiques. Tropiques is a very different mix, very sweet and
easy.”
The same non-cannibalisation issue has been true of Trésor Eau de Printemps,
an updated version of the classic Trésor fragrance, which made its debut in
February 2006 in the US and Europe. Again, the company’s trusted house model
Inès Sastre featured in the Mother’s Day visuals.
Meanwhile, the mother brand Trésor – now 16 years old - is bearing up very
well, said Brun, and is stable in sales terms versus last year. Lancôme will
be producing a second spring edition of Trésor to mark Mother’s Day 2007 with
Sastre again as the protagonist.
(...)In launch terms, the ladies won’t be stealing all of the limelight next
year. A Lancôme men’s fragrance will hit the shelves in 2007. The spokesmodel
has not yet been announced but he is understood to be “a handsome
Englishman”, Brun told The Moodie Report. We’re still guessing…"
